Product Name Development
What's
in a name? If you have one that is easy to remember and reflects the
values of your product... a great deal. Leading brand names like Tide
and Daz were developed with one objective in mind to be remembered easily.
Developing
and registering names is not not an easy task, it requires lateral thinking
and a huge amount of research.
Recent
examples.
(a)
For our client Cuisimer France we were given the task of rebranding
and naming a suirimi product for international sales. The product is
very popular in France and is known in England as 'Crab Sticks', you
will see them sold under own label and as fish sticks rather crab sticks
as there is only a crab flavour present.
Solution:
To create a brand name that could be used as a new approach to an establish
product. We finalised on 'Ocean Dippers' selling the product
as a dipping fish snack - projected sales are for Europe and Canada.
(b)
For our Dutch Client Boekos, we were asked to develop a brand name for
a new range of snack meat products for children.
Solution:
To appeal to both purchasing adults and children we finalised on Teddy
Sticks - the product being positioned as a party and snack meal
similar to the established 'cocktail sausages' that most of us make
every year for parties.
